Why am I always sick?
When you are burdened – physically, emotionally, and financially – by negative health symptoms, life can feel pretty hopeless. You may feel stuck or even trapped by ill health.
Chronic diseases, such as allergies and obesity, are challenging to live with and a drain on American families’ finances.
More than 50 million Americans are affected by allergies each year. Food allergies, alone, are costing $25 billion each year in the US.
Who wouldn’t want to feel healthier and happier?
Knowing how to get there is a whole different matter, though. There’s endless free advice out there online, much of it conflicting, which makes it even more confusing.
Maybe your doctor has not found effective ways to eliminate your symptoms and help you heal? Family and friends probably don’t understand what you’re going through, so they don’t know what to say or how to help.
None of us want to waste our time, energy, or money.
Bouncing from one wrong provider to another is frustrating. Trying and failing fad diets is demoralizing.
When you keep hitting barriers, it is easy for the doubts to start creeping in…
We justify our lack of progress with rational-sounding excuses.
“I have little kids, so I can’t possibly find time to work out.”
“I’m constantly traveling for work. Healthy eating simply isn’t realistic.”
“If I slept eight hours a night, nothing would ever get done!”
We begin telling ourselves limiting beliefs to explain why success is not possible for us.
“I’ve always been overweight. That’s just how I’m built.”
“Diabetes runs in my family, so I’ll probably end up with it too.”
“I’m not [good/smart/attractive/motivated] enough.”
We surround ourselves with people that support our mindset and behavioral choices.
This reinforces our own actions and beliefs. This can be damaging or beneficial depending on the types of relationships we build. For example:
“Everyone goes out for a drink after work. It would be weird to go and not drink too.”
— versus —
“I joined my office soccer team. It’s a fun way for us to unwind together!”
Relief is possible!
Research shows that unhealthy diet and lifestyle choices are the leading cause of chronic disease.
This is good news, because it means we have the power to directly affect how we feel today and far into the future by the choices we make each day.
The health problems keep getting worse. Health coaches are part of the solution!
The Layered Living Health Coaching Programs support you in making the sustainable habit shifts needed for better health.
With better health, comes greater happiness! It truly is that simple.
How will Health Coaching with Layered Living help me?
Let’s assume you want to improve your health and are ready to take the steps necessary to make some changes.
Ok, I have two questions for you:
No. 1: “What does good health look like to you?”
I ask this question, because my version of good health is not necessarily going to look like yours.
Maybe you want less pain, reduced fatigue, or more comfortable digestion. Perhaps you’re searching for natural approaches to lift the weight of anxiety or depression.
A possible health scare may have given you renewed motivation to take the steps you already know you need to take. If you’re a parent, you may be looking for methods to help improve your child’s health, sleep, behavior, or happiness.
It’s important to be able to clarify what YOU want so you know what you’re working toward.
I help my clients clarify their wellness goals as one of the first steps in my Health Coaching Programs. This helps us both focus on your true priorities, and not those of other people.
This is a critical part of success!
No. 2: “How would better health improve your life?”
Through their work in the Layered Living Health Coaching Programs, my clients are enjoying numerous benefits:
“At the start of my health coaching program, I was regularly taking 17 different medications. By the end, I was down to four! This is a huge relief mentally, physically, AND financially.”Nicole M.
“I gained the education and confidence needed to successfully maintain a gluten free diet as prescribed by my recent celiac disease diagnosis. I no longer need to take any medications for pain, not even headaches. My biggest victory is sleep, which increased from 4 hours on average to 6-8 hours nightly. I sleep like a log.”John B.
“I have eliminated my chronic neck and ankle joint pain and reduced the arthritis pain in both hands and wrists. I lost 10 pounds and my clothes fit better now – I need to buy a smaller size! I am able to get up and down off the floor more easily.”Christine J.
How would you like YOUR life to look in six months? Let’s turn those dreams into a reality together!
